Mind, Body & Sacred Song

£10.50 – £15.00

Music – Workshops

Live Again, Melissa James

‘Mind, Body & Sacred Song’ is the creation of singer, artist and performer, Melissa James. Started in March 2021 during lockdown, Melissa saw there was a need to create connection with others, bring people together online and be in community with each other, all whilst supporting healing and wellbeing in challenging times.

In this very first session of its kind – held in a physical space and not via Zoom – join Melissa for this special ‘Mind, Body & Sacred Song’ performance in which Melissa offers her voice in song and guides participants in singing with her.

Participants are invited to “come as they are” with blankets, lying down, or sitting on a chair or on a cushion. The goal is to be comfortable and at ease – to allow this to feel like a safely-supported space in which you can rest and be bathed in musical sounds.

For those wishing to participate, Melissa will offer some guidance in looping simple melodies. These might take the form of singing mantras or short, repetitive phrases. For those wishing to purely be in receivership of the evening’s musical offerings, they are free to do just that.

This event has no religious leaning. All are welcome. Please bring blankets, mats, or cushions if you might wish to use one.
