Free speech and language therapy drop-in advice session in Clapham

Clapham parents are invited to attend a free drop-in speech and language therapy advice session on Tuesday 27th January at the Millie and Maisie Soft Play Café in Rectory Grove (SW4 0ED). The workshop – entitled “Let’s Talk” – will be hosted by the team at London Speech Therapy (LST), who have just opened a new clinic at The Light Centre on Clapham High Street.

Aimed at the parents and carers of 0-5 year olds, the session will explore how young children develop language and how communication can be supported through everyday play. With practical tips to take away and time for questions, this short, informal workshop will be useful for anyone wanting to know more about their child’s speech and language development.

The session will take place between 1:00pm and 2:30pm and will be free to attend with the price of play at the café.  Emily Kirchin, Joint Managing Director and Consultant Speech and Language Therapist at London Speech Therapy, explained more:

“We’re delighted to have opened our Clapham clinic and are pleased to be able to offer a free drop-in session to the local community at the Millie & Maisie Play Café. When it comes to language development, early advice and reassurance can make a huge difference to parents. Our workshop will be about sharing information and giving parents the chance to talk through any concerns they may have in a welcoming, informal environment. We look forward to seeing lots of people there and are grateful to the team at Millie and Maisie for inviting us to use their gorgeous café space to meet local residents.”
