Murder probe launched after boy, 14, knifed to death in east London

murder investigation has been launched after a 14-year-old boy was knifed to death in east London in broad daylight.

Despite the efforts of paramedics from the London Ambulance Service and London Air Ambulance, the victim was pronounced dead shortly after 4.30pm.

The Metropolitan Police said efforts were under way to inform the victim’s next of kin.

A crime scene is in place and the Met said there would be an increased police presence in the area.

London Mayor Sadiq Khan said the news was “devastating.”

He wrote: “This is utterly devastating. My heart breaks for the family and friends of this young man. I’m in close contact with the Deputy Met Commissioner and there is an increased police presence in the area.”
